Life- a mirror

Her eyes open, open to this glaring myriad of mirrors
Mirrors that reflect off her innocence, her inner desires
She breathes, breathes in the intoxicating, poisoned air
Poisoned by the infinite elements of human nature
The conscience of a thousand minds,
The harmony of a thousand strings,
The innateness of a thousand beings,
All in a single confine
All in a single reflection

She rises from the delve of the unknown
From the graveyard of a million screams
To seek sanity in a new beginning
To seek purity in new faith
All she wants to see, remains an illusion
All she wants to feel, remains a dream
Smothered by a smog
It gets hard to see, hard to breathe, hard to feel
She feels it slipping away
She feels it fading away
Into the darkness, into the void

Her feet are sinking, sinking in the red sand
She lay tied down, the creepers entangling, choking
She begins to fall, deep into the abyss
Into the depths of the unknown
It’s the beginning of an end
The beginning that never began
As she falls deeper, her heart beats weaker
Her senses keep her alive, alive to feel the pain
To feel the stinging, the blinding light ahead
To feel a new beginning, a hope that it begins.

The Taste of Thought

The aroma of pancakes, blueberry waffles and tea,

Wakes me up in the morning as early as three!

All I need are some jam tarts, croissants and pastries thrown in,

Oh god, forgive me for I’ll never cease to commit this sin.

There’s always room for some ‘strawberries and cream’,

“Give me some chocolate muffins!” I scream.

All this and more make up my morning treat,

I’m sure there’s nothing in this world it cannot beat!

Chicken stew and pasta beckon me at 12,

Pan fried fish and chips call out to me as well!

Once that’s done there’s noodles and rice,

All this so simple yet so nice.

Sushi, macaroons and dark chocolate mousse,

I’d kill myself if I were made to choose!

That’s not it, there’s respite for the Indian soul,

There’s the tandoori chicken perched in a bowl.

When exquisite puddings, pastries and pies come your way,

Don’t miss out on them; they might just make your day!

Now comes a Roman’s meal of the day,

Served up in 3 courses and here to stay.

First there are the mouthwatering entrees,

Salads, eggs and mushrooms sautéed.

Meatballs, momos and tacos with salsa

Would make you wana jump up and do the salsa.

Raspberry-Balsamic chicken compete with tangy tartar sauce and calamari rings,

However, closely followed by sun-dried tomatoes and stir-fried chicken wings.

Fruits, nuts, honey cakes and wine,

Make the last course undoubtedly divine!

All this is just a fraction of what the world has to offer,

That which captures the mind and makes it wander,

From France, Italy, Japan and Rome,

Some of the best things are right here at home.

So, don’t ever give up a chance to serve yourself a treat,

Cuz I believe, we don’t eat to live but live to eat!

The love may seem torn,

As torn and tattered as an old rag

Lost like a needle in a haystack

Like a speck of dust in cosmic space

When u stand atop Everest and gaze down at the vanishing valleys,

When u sail in the pacific and feel the winds manipulate Ur every move,

When u lie in the insignificant shade of a palm tree in the Sahara and feel the sands blinding Ur eyes,

When u gaze at the Hawaiian sunset and feel Ur hopes go down with the sun,

JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND DREAM…

When life makes a cunning move and vanquishes Ur knight and bishop,

When circumstances determine Ur decisions and leave u helpless,

When Ur closest friends turn their backs on u and leave u stunned with remorse,

When the whole world seems to be crashing down on you,

When all that u believed in just seems to be a mirage,

When that someone u trusted Ur life with suddenly leaves you all alone,

When u come upon those times where you feel like you don’t know yourself anymore,

When you desire silence, peace of mind and most of all eternal happiness,

When expectations mount day by day forcing u to sacrifice the things closest to Ur heart,

When monotonous activities take control of Ur life and slowly eat into the flexibilities of Ur imagination killing the childlike inquisitiveness in u, creating in u a void,

When violence and corruption fills the air and suffocates you till the point of unconsciousness,

When jealously and greed creep into Ur thoughts and drive u to walk on the path of the unforgiving,

JUST CLOSE UR EYES AND DREAM…

DREAM the impossible, dream the supernatural; dream the most ambitious of dreams… dream that your dream can turn into reality and that u can turn reality itself into YOUR dream…dream when you are elated and dream when you are depressed…don’t ever stop dreaming. Dream so you can change the bad times and cherish the good ones.

When u gaze into the night sky and see the smiling stars as if inviting you to heaven,

When u see the fresh flowers bloom in spring and feel Ur spirits rising sky high,

When u see Ur city streets glimmering with the love and laughter on an enchanting Christmas evening and feel that life is beautiful,

When u are brides maid at Ur best friend’s wedding hoping you’ll also find Ur true love one day,

When you feel the warmth of your mother’s touch fondling you with care,

When you will do anything to be like your father, to imitate his every move and to make him proud of you,

When your little sibling gives u a warm hug and looks up to you with love and affection,

When you experience the divine bond you share with nature and feel its presence within you and all around you,

When u look into that one person’s eyes and feel the adrenaline rush,

When all u want is to be with that one person more than anything in the world and feel Ur heart beating 1000 times faster every time u think of it,

When u feel strong, happy, and safe in that one person’s arms,

When u realize that love is the most beautiful thing ever,

When you feel the wind through your hair and smell the hint of rain in the air,

When you hear the strumming of a guitar and feel like singing at the top of your voice,

When you hear the chirping of early morning birds and feel the warmth of sunshine on your face,

When u shut your eyes in prayer and feel the satisfaction of hearing God’s silence,

JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND DREAM…

When u taste success and experience the exhilarating feeling of victory running through your veins,

When you reminisce about old times and laugh at old jokes till your stomach begins to hurt,

When you rejoice with patriotism at the victory of Ur nation and feel proud to be an INDIAN,

When you feel you have the freedom to fly high enough so as to touch the sky,

JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND DREAM…

When all you seek is freedom- freedom to be yourself, to do something, to be someone that’s a better you without having to succumb to life’s numerous temptations,

When all that you long for is a wonderful vacation away from life’s gnawing beckoning and it all just seems an impossibility,

When you wish you would just like to disappear from the face of the earth without a single trace,

When life seems impossible to handle but there’s just one little light at the end of the tunnel,

JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND DREAM…

Life is like a game of boggle-every time you shake the box you get a new sequence of alphabets and you have to make sense of the jumbled letters. The faster you are able to come up with different words each time, the better you get at the game; you can never be a winner just like in the game of life where every new day is like a new unknown sequence of alphabets which you need to decipher and understand...the time for which runs out like the sand in the hour glass.

Try to be a winner everyday, try to master the game of life and when you think you are a champion think twice because life is an invincible competitor. How many ever times you feel that you have conquered life its all just Ur imagination! We are all puppets and the strings lie in the hands of our creator, our preserver, our destroyer – life.

Life is multiple personality disorder personified. Life’s multiple faces are strange, sometimes so weird that it can freak you out. The only thing that can keep you in pace and in step with life is faith- faith in yourself, faith in those who care for you and most of all faith in God. Have faith that you can battle with life to turn every stage of your existence into a pleasant one. Have faith that those who really care for you are those who will continue to do so come what may.

The most powerful weapon you can possess to battle with life is your dreams. Just fire them at life like an array of cannon balls and don’t give life a chance to counterattack. The only way you can do that is to turn your dreams into reality… make YOUR dream your friend, philosopher and guide. Never give up on it coz if you do your giving life a chance to get back. Once you start turning your dream into reality, your dream will hypnotize life for good. That is why I say:
